Apple TV+ — How We Made a For All Mankind Poster on iPad Pro — Apple

PAIGE & JUSTIN:
I’m Paige, and I’m Justin PAIGE:
We’re Phantom City Creative JUSTIN:
and this is how we create posters for the show, JUSTIN:
“For All Mankind.” PAIGE:
I love the premise of the show: PAIGE:
This group of women going into space PAIGE:
reaching a goal together, and being successful. JUSTIN:
I love space. I’m a big nerd. JUSTIN:
Once we learned the show was about JUSTIN:
if the space race had gone different I was immediately in. JUSTIN:
The image that really inspired us was PAIGE:
this amazing view of the women on the tarmac. PAIGE:
this amazing view of the women on the tarmac. JUSTIN:
We’ll start in a sketchbook: really messy little thumbnail sketches. PAIGE:
Oftentimes we’ll have a few pages. JUSTIN:
Then we move on to our favorites in a sketch form. PAIGE:
We take a photo of them, bring them into the iPad Pro PAIGE:
We start with line art, color roughs, PAIGE:
choosing our colors, composition, moving things around JUSTIN:
And then we start the final art. PAIGE:
To be period accurate was really important to us. PAIGE:
We didn’t want to have anything that wasn’t represented in the show. JUSTIN:
We don’t want to do anything halfway. JUSTIN:
We don’t want to do release anything that’s not our absolute-best work. JUSTIN:
If you get to a point in a poster where everything has a purpose, JUSTIN:
then it’s done.
