Purchased the Boya BY-M1 Lavalier Mic. using the lightning adapter, I plugged mine in, and no sound from the microphone. It doesn't work:( Any tips? I've followed the instructions that came with it, to no avail. Switched is on the smartphone setting. Thank you so much!

    The iPhone 3.5 adapter is actually a rip off on amazon, best to buy straight from apple. I bought many off of amazon and they are all rip offs and itโ€™s frustrating because the cost to return is the same as the product.

  48. You can really use any tripod to hold the lights up. These days I have them mounted on the wall, but in this video I was using a podcast style microphone arm to hold up the light

  59. Thanks for these tips mate I'm been shooting videos for my YT channel on the iPhone for two years. Until now Ive shot video at 1080p 30 fps….gonna try 4k from now see how it goes. I tried a lapel mike but as a working photographer being tethered to the phone wasn't working for me, so now I'll get the wee rode microphone. When recording myself I've always used the rear camera, from now I'll try the the front cam. So much great advise here cheers for posting.Happy new subscriber.

  61. if you want to use the main cam on ur iphone then you can just screen mirror to an Apple TV or a Samsung TV( yes apple did work with them) so u can see what r u doing as well as have the best quality possible( maybe not with a tiny cam in ur phone )
