Live Demonstration – MeasureSquare iPad Edition

To get started, you’re gonna click on the
plus icon. This is gonna prompt you for a diagram name. Here you can enter the customer’s name, their
address, their phone number, however you want to identify it. Once you’ve entered the customer’s name, go
ahead and select on create new. The system will then bring you to a blank
diagram. From here you can start off with the pencil
icon and do some of the different drawing options, such as rectangular room where you
tap and drag your finger to the desired dimensions, or you can do something like freedraw, where
you’re drawing any shape outside of a square or rectangle. For the last wall, you don’t have to measure
it, including if it’s an angled wall. You just hit the check mark. The system will close out your shape and calculate
the last wall for you. Once you’re done drawing out all your rooms,
go ahead and tap and drag on them to align them to build your diagram here. After you have drawn out your rooms, then
you can do some miscellaneous things to your rooms, such as applying a door. So from the widgets menu here, you’re gonna
select on openings, and I’m just gonna drag in my door to a desired location. The measurements that you see in red are specifying
from the corner of the room to the door jamb and the same for the other side. So you’ll just go ahead and drag them in accordingly. Then we have our cut-outs. Our cut-outs are anywhere where you want to
deduct product. This could be a cabinet, a tub, a sink–anywhere
where you don’t want product to go under. If you need to, just tap on the i icon to
resize it or to modify it as needed. From the stair menu, again, we have several
different templates. You just want to choose a template that resembles
what you’re working with. Once you have it in your diagram, go into
the i menu and the details menu to adjust any stair properties. Once you have drawn out your diagram, then
we will move over to step two, which is to assign our products. So from our product catalog list, it’s just
a matter of tapping and dragging into the appropriate rooms. If you want to put a different product in
these rooms, just go ahead and drag it in to the appropriate areas. That is for our flooring products. Now for our linear products, such as a transition
or a quarter round, you would go ahead and tap it, bring it into the door. You highlight the door and that will apply
a transition at the doorway. if you want to apply, let’s say a quarter
round around the perimeter of the room, you drag it into the room, and the highlights
that you see there, those dashed lines, are representing a linear product around your
room. Once you’ve applied all the products to your
room, then it’s a matter of estimating it. So from the lower part of the screen here,
we will drag this gray box up, and this will show us our cut sheet. Currently, we’re at about a 23% waste. You can remove the seams to adjust your estimating
parameters. You can also switch your layout direction
to the preferred method there. Users can compare and contrast which way works
best for them, and then from there it’s just a matter of generating a report. So from here we’re gonna go over to Print
Report, generate a PDF that’s gonna include our estimation summary, our diagram, cut sheet,
and room area list. This can be emailed or printed directly from
here. This shows you your estimation summary, followed
by a copy of your diagram, and your cut sheet. If you’d like just hit the share menu from
here, and then you are done.
