Nokia 6.1 Indian Retail Unit (4GB+64GB) Blue-Gold Colour | Unboxing & Review with Camera Samples

Hello there, my name’s Naresh & Welcome to
my channel ‘Tech Buddy’ So here I have the Nokia 6.1 Indian retail
unit. Actually it’s the global variant of the Nokia
6 2018 which was launched in China, back in January. The only difference
being, is the software. The 6.1 comes with stock Android where as
the the Nokia 6 comes with custom UI, designed for China. By the way this’s my first ever unboxing,so
it might be a bit clumsy here and there, pls bear with me. lets get started… First lets hava a look around the box, the
Nokia 6.1 is an AndroidOne device. As some of you might know, AndroidOne is a
programme designed & Developed by Google itself. So you’ll get faster updates, security patches
along with a stock android experiance. Down below, its written ‘Made in India’ I
don’t think they actually manufacture here they might just assemble it. Some product iformation, the MRP is Rs20050/-
but you can get it for around 18k on Amazon. It has 4Gb of RAM and 64Gb of storage and
the colour is Blue-Gold. That’s pretty much it, so lets open up the
box and see the contents inside… So thats the phone itself. It feels quite sturdy and solid in hand… Thats the SIM ejector pin. And some quick start guide… And I guess this box contains charger and
data cable. Oh I’m surprised to see that they included
some ear phones inside. Its becoming rare these days. They’re pretty much Nokia standard. There’s a mic as well. The charging cable which is USB type C. Thats
nice. The charging brick
is large, maybe because its a fast charger. Yes, the Nokia 6.1 supports quick charge 3.0. With this 18 Watt charger, it can charge up-to
50% in just 30 minutes… So this’s the phone itself. Dark blue colour with the golden margins,
it looks great. I mean it may not be the most modern looking
smartphone b’cos of its outdated 16:9 aspect ratio, but it surely is one of the most premium
looking smartphones under 20k. Lets have a look around. there’s a single bottom firing speaker,USB
typeC port, microphone. And on the left, the sim-lock tray, and on
the top, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right, we have the volume rocker, power
on button. they’re quite sturdy. Even
the antenna lines placement gives a nice look to this device. On the back, there’s a noise cancellation
mic, single 16Mp camera, flash and fingerprint scanner. Now its
time to have a look at some specs; The phone is powered by Snapdragon 630 octa-core chipset
with Adreno 508GPU. it comes with stock android 8.1 oreo out of
the box. A
single 16Mp carlZeiss lens at f2.0 aperture with pixel size of 1.0micron. It can shoot upto 4k at 30fps. And on the front, there’s an 8Mp lense at
f2.0 with a pixel size of 1.12 microns. Bluetooth version 5.0; NFC, and FM radio. It has a 3000Mah battery… Lets open up the sim tray…and its a hybrid
slot. you can either insert two nano SIMs or a single SIM along with a micro SD
card… So its the first boot it says androidone. I’ll set it up and then come back… So its all been setup & ready., and the first
thing that impressed me is the display. Quite
crisp and bright & the sunlight legibility too is very good. Because I’m sitting outside directly in the
sunlight and still be able to see the screen. the UI is quite
simple and gives the stock android feel. Lets get into the settings, there’s a night
light setting in the display which can be sheduled according to our comfort. Out of
the 64Gb, almost 15Gb is already used up at the first boot. Some update is already downloading. Its running on android 8.1 and the security
patch is dated 1st april, we’ll have to see after the update. The finger print scanner is accurate and fast,
takes about 0.5 second to unlock. One thing that is missing though is the Face
unlock. And Nokia has already promised the face unlock
for 6.1 in the future updates. Lets hope they keep up the promise. lets jump into the camera. The outlay is quite simple
everything is laid out neatly. there’s the time lapse and slow motion video
recording feature at 720p at 120fps. Video resolution can go upto UHD 4k. but sadly EIS i.e. Electronic Image Stabilization is missing front cam
can record upto 1080p. Auto HDR feature enabled. An interesting feature probably seen only
on Nokia devices, i.e the Bothie feature, which lets us to use both the back
and front cameras simultaneously to shoot either photos or videos. You can also use the PIP or the picture in
picture mode to record… Now that all the updates are
finished, lets see the security patch level… & yes it is updated now it is 1st July 2018. Nokia included some gesture control features
like, turn over the phone to reject a call, or mute the ring on pickup,
jump to camera by pressing the power button twice, and lift the phone to check notifications
like an always on display. But
there’s one intersting gesture which enable the fingerprint scanner to pull down the notifications
bar. It should come to other mobiles too I hope… So thats pretty
much it, I believe I’ve covered everything. I’ll be doing a camera comaprision with the
Redmi Note5 pro in my next video. And please do subscribe to my channel
‘Tech Buddy’ for more tech updates. Thank you, have a nice day…
