Hello, everyone. Today, I gonna show you some Procreate design techniques. This time is about Alphabet design like this, Looking like splashing from B letter. Recently, Procreate got a new function, Text tool. In this lecture, I gonna use it and tell you how to apply it. It includes some useful functions, enjoy! OK, Let’s begin. Open your Procreate, and make new canvas by Screen size from the right corner plus button. First of all, We gonna add text. Tap the setting button, then tap Add button, and select Add text. This time, add a single letter “B”. If you edit font or size, select Edit Style right here. Then edit bars show up and you can use them. This time, I gonna use Begum font. I added in Procreate before. I use Begum, but if you want your own font from out side, I already talked about this tip in other video. I put the URL on the description below, so check it out too. When you edit font size, you can do by tapping the arrow icon on left corner. I usually use this way, because it’s easy, fast and makes it good. So, remember to do here. If change color, tap the text and use color panel on right corner. There is already text layer. But I gonna duplicate. Slide to left to do it. The duplicated is stocked as a backup. So, get the bottom of text layer hidden. About top of the text layer, we gonna Rasterize it. Tap Rasterization button. Once it’s rasterized, it’s no longer Text layer. You can treat it as an illustration layer. So, you can use Warp tool or edit some details. This is Rasterization. Now, we gonna use Clipping Mask to this rasterized B letter, at first. Select the layer and you can see Clipping Mask button. By using this, I gonna hide a part of “B”. Select Black brush and trace it. Mask gets hidden by tracing black, but it shows up by tracing white. For example, select hard Air brush and I gonna trace it. Like this, my drawing is treated as black color in the layer. But it gets white, hidden on the alphabet. If you paint it white, hidden area show up as original color This Clipping Mask tool is essential to use Procreate. I already uploaded the lecture about this function, and put the URL on the description below. Please check it if you interested. Now we gonna add more designs. First, let’s erase unnecessary parts by Clipping Mask. If you erased them roughly, put the letter’s opacity down to about 20%. Add a new layer on top of them. This is for splash expression as you saw before. About Brush settings, I recommend you to use a hard one. Hard air brush, or Script. Also, Inking is a good one . This time, I’m using customized Script brush. Referring to original letter, we gonna draw splashing. Imagine the splashed expression with outline. From here, you need your own creativity. It’s a good way to prepare some picture or Illustration of water. Me also using splash photo on the left side out of this camera. If you got outline to some degree, let’s paint it. When you do drop painting, drag Color button and drop on it. And when you slide it, you can set the threshold. Threshold decides how much you paint. Color button and Threshold. they are really useful when you paint. OK, it’s getting better, like this. Now we gonna erase unnecessary part from original B by Clipping Mask. Be sure to select layer mask, use black brush and erase under splashing parts. Next, you can add more splashing details or marbles. Now, it’s time to finish it. Add a new layer on top. By using white brush, let’s paint white marble pattern there. You can already say it’s finished, but we gonna make more details by white brush. OK, it’s finished. It looks really good, I think so. Looking at layers, you can see there are not so many layers used. I didn’t use technical function. I did it by only basic tools. Clipping Mask is a little bit tricky, but you can paint it simply… try it. And I’m addicted to text design by Procreate and keeping trial and error now. So let me share if I get a new techniques on Youtube. OK, this lecture was about text design. If this video is useful for you, please Thumbs up. Thank you for watching, Bye!
